Serviceable cassette plate heat exchangers engineered for ammonia refrigeration and duties that require a welded refrigerant circuit with an openable secondary side.
Adjacent corrugated plates are perimeter-welded into cassettes. Ammonia or another critical medium flows through the welded channels, while the secondary fluid travels through gasketed channels between cassettes. Ring gaskets seal the cassette ports and field gaskets seal the openable service side.

01
Welded refrigerant channel, openable service channel
Each cassette is sealed by a continuous peripheral weld. The refrigerant remains inside the welded channel, while the secondary fluid flows through the gasketed channel between cassettes.
02
Separate ring and field gasket functions
Ring gaskets seal the welded-cassette ports. The field gasket seals and directs the service-side flow, allowing the plate pack to remain openable for inspection and cleaning.

Frequently asked questions
Key questions before product selection.
How does Semi-Welded Plate Heat Exchangers work?
Adjacent corrugated plates are perimeter-welded into cassettes. Ammonia or another critical medium flows through the welded channels, while the secondary fluid travels through gasketed channels between cassettes. Ring gaskets seal the cassette ports and field gaskets seal the openable service side.
What information is required to select the right product?
Provide refrigerant, evaporation or condensing duty, secondary fluid, capacity, flow rates, inlet and outlet conditions, design pressures, allowable pressure drop, connection sizes and applicable refrigeration standard.
Which materials and configurations are available?
SS304, SS316L or titanium heat-transfer plates; NBR, EPDM or FKM field gaskets; CR or EPDM ring gaskets
How is the final product size confirmed?
The final size is confirmed by thermal calculation using flow rates, inlet and outlet temperatures, allowable pressure drop, design pressure and fluid properties.
